Jaguar may take one more month for the official uncovering of its totally revamped XJ flagship that’s soon going to tread the streets and highways with all zeal and zest. Many are curious how it would look like, and can’t wait anymore to see it flying on the roads.
The British automaker has issued some teasers recently and following them, it has been illustrated the way it’s going to be. The coming XJ Jaguar model is going to take the combined elements of the well-known C-XF concept and the XF sedan that will make it appear different from the available retro styling model. The feature that’s going to distinguish it from other available cars is its indiscernible c-pillar.
Jaguar Chief Designer Ian Callum has been shown explaining the concepts behind the coming Jaguar in a recently released teaser video. Though the large part of the vehicle hasn’t been shown in this video, Callum says the coming model will be utterly different from a Jaguar flagship idea.
The car has been codenamed as X351 and according to some reports its preview has been offered to VIPSs by Jaguar. The source which previewed that car says that it appears quite similar to Rapide from Aston Martin. With its slopping roofline and impressive overall exterior, it is bigger than the Mercedes CLS that is very much like a coupe.
It has been openly stated by Callum that people would find the new XJ somewhat more daring than fascinating than the XF, as this is a lower volume version. Well, we need to think about smooth and shiny headlamps that we have already seen in the well-known C-XF concept and low-slung profile as well.
When it comes to the powertrain, it is expected that it will feature V8 direct-injection line with 380hp with start ratings. A 3.0L all-new twin-turbo V6 diesel will be another option for European buyers.
The all-aluminum chassis that was the hallmark of XJ predecessors, the new model will also come up with the same apart from that it’s going to lead the line when it comes to lightness, strength and torsional rigidity.
