Technically, the 2010 Kia Forte can be reckoned as a successor to the Spectra, but in actual it is something more than that and the thing which can be easily noticed is that this time the automaker seems to leave behind soul hamsters and now it is concentrating more on its product rather than marketing. The 2010 Kia Forte has the freshest list of competitors that include Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Mazda3 and Chverolet Cobalt as well as Ford Focus to some extent.

When it comes to the looks, it features a vigorous muscular body with distinct shoulder line all around the fenders and the hood. These seem to extend rearward in low and wide stance; it takes even more clear and welcoming shape with its swept back headlamps that join grille area. The design and styling are quite expressive and  it is, indeed, one of the best designs that some Kia ever had.

It has been offered in three trim levels that include entry-level EX, mid-level LX and high-end SX.

The Forte SX has similar Kia styling with some really robust features that include locks, power windows, cruise control, remote key entry, steering wheel mounted audio etc. The styling is quite unique for a Kia, but there are some elements which look quite similar to Mazda particularly its binnacles instrument.

There is an impressively trimmed dashboard area for its interior that has some regular driver accessories within it. The red illumination near the speedo looks quite nice, but its tachometer is not quite up to the mark and looks somewhat butching. In previous versions, there were a four to six speaker system in it, but now this time it’s going to have an impressive audio system. The Bluetooth system is also a nice addition that seems to make things quite clear.

The leather seating areas have been given as an option in the passenger and driver seats, and they seem to offer nice support. A complete array of airbags and active headrests are some class above safety features of it.

There are two different engines to power the three Trims. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has been housed in the LX and EX. It is capable to produce 156-hp and 144lb-ft of torque. According to EPA claims it goes to 25mpg in the city and 35mpg on the highway. While there is a 2.4-liter engine to power the SX and it is the same as has been used in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.  It has the power output of 173hp and 168lb-ft of torque.

When it comes to performance, all one can say is that it is quite impressive and the smooth and supple ride takes you on cloud nine. It can really add some spice in your routine dull and drab driving and it is, indeed, the vehicle that most among you would love to drive.
